Never Let It Be Said That We Can't Take A Hint.
Darling readers, what can we say? Would you believe that the dog ate our pattern books?
No?
Well, in honor of our book coming out next Tuesday (!!!!!) we'll be posting something every day for the next week. After that, well..we'll try a little harder to get back to our regular posting schedule.
We thank you for your infinite patience (ahem!) and your readership.

All is forgiven. I was starting to feel like one of those trained rats that keep pressing the leaver in vain hopes of a pellet.
thanks for the catty '50s gals. They should keep me laughing for a while.
And congrats on the book. That should really reward my trained rat rear end.

Totally worth the wait!
Posted by: Julie | Nov 10, 2006 9:58:06 AM
I just pre-ordered mine!
Say, anybody else look at that fuzzy sweater in pic #2 and hear that old toy commercial from the 80's?
"Moss man is GREEN! So he can't be SEEN!!"
No? ... (cough)
Okay, fine. Just consider how many muppets were clubbed to death to make that sweater (you elitist sophisticates).

Okay, how come this week's story starts with a Scandinavian double-agent from a Bond movie knock-off but then shifts to the Desperate Housewives? Is someone new moving to Wisteria Lane, someone with a Cold War secret?
BTW - I think the world needs more mohair, mid-sleeve, turtleneck cardigans. What could be more practical? Keeps your neck itchy and warm while you do dishes!

A book? Alrighty then! Congratulations!
Haven't seen this many gloves and arched eyebrows since Pudge Rodriguez got knocked out of the World Series.

The book, the book, let's hear it for the book. I hope all the juicy stuff isn't edited out and that all us loyal poster's literary efforts are in it!! Whatever is in it, I know it will be on the best seller's list. Go Treadbared Gals Goooooo!
P.S. I don't know if this is normal but something is happening to me because I really like all of the sweaters on this post. But I live in Olympia and we'll wear anything here.
Posted by: JuJu | Nov 11, 2006 2:56:02 PM
Wait a minute, you like ALL the sweaters? Even the gingerbread man one on the girl who's listening to the mustache gossip? I admit, the little white bolero on Goody Two Shoes is kind of cute, and there's a classic quality to the other button-front jobs, but Miss Mustache News Recipient must be clutching her throat to soothe the palpitations of being forced to look like a dumpy middle-aged man from neck to hip.
Posted by: Jessamyn | Nov 11, 2006 6:19:39 PM
And would you wear all the hair-dos too, Mr. or Ms. Olympia? hmmmm? Hairspray anyone?
Posted by: underwaterblues | Nov 11, 2006 8:16:08 PM
How about that skirt on the second chick. OUCH.
Posted by: Ellie | Nov 12, 2006 11:18:19 AM
Yes, the skirt looks painful but the shirt looks very soft, almost like it's made from (gulp) kittens...oh my...

I just got my notice from Amazon that my book has shipped!! I do so hope I'm in it, along with some of the other faithful's I have enjoyed reading...!! I can't wait to get the book!!!! P.S. LOVE the Bitchy post!!

Kitten sweater? Yes, indeed,it looks kittenish all righty, and only a low down dirty DOG could have the heart to want a fashion so badly that she would go out and buy kitten yarn and then sit and knit and wear a kitten sweater. Yes, dear friends the world has truly gone to the dogs. There should be laws, big enforcable laws against stuff like kitten sweaters!...cheeeeez wizz.
Posted by: daffy | Nov 13, 2006 9:52:01 AM
the lady in picture number 3 looks like Bree VanDeCamp from Desperate Housewives.
Posted by: Deborah | Nov 13, 2006 10:17:52 AM
BOUGHT kitten yarn? Please! Any handy home craftswoman would "gather" and spin her own!
Posted by: Ashphalt | Nov 13, 2006 11:24:37 AM
ANY sweater can be a kitten sweater after spending an hour at my house. It will come away bearing a layer of fuzzy, kitten whiteness.
Posted by: Marcia | Nov 13, 2006 3:54:35 PM
I'm with Inky here. Save the Muppets! How could any gentle, evolved person wear sweaters like that knowing that a bunch of club-wielding thugs enticed a poor, defenseless Cookie Monster into their nefarious trap with a box of chocolate covered Oreos just so they could make soft blue yarn that sells at Big Box Mart for $9.95?
Posted by: OzoneGirl | Nov 13, 2006 10:29:20 PM
Is anybody else tracking their package via Amazon? My book is getting delivered today!!!!!! I cannot actually wait to get home tonight. I may pee my pants!!
Posted by: toiletpaper | Nov 14, 2006 12:34:51 PM
I just have to say that... if you made a t-shirt with picture # 4 on the front ("cram it blondie")... that I would pay money for that. Yes I would. :)
Posted by: Dooalot | Nov 14, 2006 2:40:27 PM
What's really sad is if I had a copy of the Blonde's pattern for that bolero, I'd love to make it for myself...
Posted by: Georg | Nov 15, 2006 8:58:16 PM
Georg - that can be arranged. This pattern book (and many others!) will be up for grabs on Ebay sometime in the near future.
Posted by: Mary | Nov 15, 2006 11:42:51 PM
Please, oh pretty please, can I have a "Cram it Blondie" tee shirt too???
Threadbared: The Book and Threadbared: The Clothing Line.
Can't get enough Threadbared!
Posted by: Jill | Nov 16, 2006 10:26:32 AM
No offense, Jill, but considering the material of the site, that might not be the best idea.
I wouldn't buy it.
For myself.
Much.
